Hello and thanks for stopping by my website! I am a recovering TV News Producer with nearly 20 years of experience in the crazy world of broadcast journalism. Over the course of 17 years, I have covered everything from NASA shuttle launch successes-- and failures, the death of President Gerald Ford, the BART transit strike, the Oscar Grant shooting, countless wildfires and natural disasters in Northern CA, tech booms and busts, health and wellness features, community events, public safety, and my last breaking news story that led me to quit the business-- the devastating Oakland Warehouse Fire.
I'm now a Writer & Producer who calls San Francisco, CA home. If I'm not being a lifelong news geek, you'll find me promoting Community Organizing through my non-profit group, Organizing for Action SF-- OR -- volunteering my time as a Sustainable Food Educator at my local farmer's market.
As for comedy, I am doomed to a life of "ha-ha" servitude after marrying my stand-up comedian husband Drew in 2007. We met at Michigan State University and have been making each other laugh, cry, and throw things at one another, for the past 18 years and counting! We produce our own comedy showcase called "I Think I'd Be Good At That" and record a comedy podcast together with our lawyer/MMA fighter friend, Jim Cotter. The podcast is called "Chucklepedia" and it should be available to download on iTunes and Spotify.
We're also the proud parents of fur babies "Pogi" and "Kaya" Harmon. No blog posts on them yet because well, they're cats. They eat, sleep and go #1 and #2 (lots of #2) in the litter box.
Again, thanks for stopping by and happy posting!
